Mental illness is a major contributory factor to homelessness. This video was filmed and edited to help The American Church Soup Kitchen in Fitzrovia, central London to get people off the street by creating the first no appointment needed mental-health drop-in centre.
Working closely with MKTG, an experiential marketing agency, this video was made and included in a 'Saved By Soup' crowdfunding campaign launched on Chuffed.org, a specialist site for social causes. The campaign was a resounding success, actually exceeding the target of £30,000 by over £5000.
A world first, the Soup Kitchen in Whitfield Street W1, funded by the crowdsourcing campaign now employs a Counselling Psychologist and two Cognitive Behavioural Therapists in a pilot project lasting for 24 months.
